Since 2007…more than 50,000 served. We have been in business since 1995 but we did not use Quickbooks until 2007. I do remember starting my bookkeeping on paper. At some point my dad refurbished an old computer for me. Originally I cleaned Monday to Friday during the day with the occasional weekend clean, did client surveys and return phone calls early weekday evenings, and on Saturday morning I did my bookkeeping. That was when the paperwork could be managed in a half day. Those were the days. I did not have a kid back then!
We did not have cell phones, text, and email was used sparingly. We talked a lot on the phone and had wonderful contact as a result. Welcome to today. Silicon valley has upped our workload significantly with incoming information minute by minute. Today we treasure the client that picks up the phone and there is a human voice to the person.
We realize times have changed and we have adjusted. While everyone thinks communication has improved, we know that when our clients used only the phone, they had amazing memories for what was said. More errors in interpretation occur on all sides with the information overload everyone is experiencing today. The brain has an amazing ability to read what it wants to hear. The fact that we rely on the computer for memory, makes our memory less reliable. But we have the written text to verify all the times we read what we wanted it to say instead of what it does say.
I think we all know this experience. The more data flowing by, the more misinterpretation. We have developed all sort of ways in our office to minimize misinterpretation for office staff, client and staff. We just wish silicon valley was more committed to creating less work for us all! Information overload is a real thing folks. Think about it.

Heat exhaustion is a real concern on days like today. Mostly it will affect roofers and people working outside but that doesn’t mean precautions shouldn’t be taken inside.
